    Most of you reading this know the importance of passive income- you just need help on how to get it up and running so that you can make some real income right? First things first, let's talk about WHY it's so important to create online content for your online business- including online courses.

    Why You Should Consider Creating an Online Course For Your Business

    There are a wide variety of marketing methods at your disposal, such as blogging, video marketing, email marketing, Amazon FBA, SEO, and more. But an online course can be as profitable as any of them, possibly even more so. And they can be easy to create if you already have an eBook or educational material at hand. There are plenty of valid reasons to consider an online course for your business.

    Return on Investment

    Online courses can deliver a very impressive return on investment if they are done properly. Once you have the course created and uploaded to a site such as Udemy, then there is not much else to do aside from promoting the product. Ideally, the product will have been promoted before it is released. Online courses can be sold over and over and can deliver an income for years without much additional enhancement. However, it should be noted that creating a course is a little more difficult than it appears at first glance.

    They Are Increasing in Popularity

    More and more people are turning towards online courses to receive their education compared to other methods. Online courses are far cheaper and often contain a wealth of information that cannot be obtained anywhere else. While the online course niche is becoming saturated, there is still a lack of high-quality courses that deliver original content not available anywhere else. If you can give this to your target audience, then your online course will be a massive success. If you find yourself giving the same advice over and over again, then a course is a good way to streamline your efforts.

    Build Authority and Credibility

    If you do sell a course effectively, then you will have a built a reputation as an expert in the field. Even if it does not sell that well, creating your own online course is going to be a massive boost to your brand. As your business grows, you will be able to point your customers towards your course.  You can use the course as an up sell or as a down sell with associated products and services. In many ways, it can be like having two separate kinds of business. While there can be considerable work involved in creating an online course for your business, it is definitely worth it.

    SO.. now that we have established the main WHY- the next question is HOW do you do it? So let's break it down into 3 simple steps to outline the main points.

    Step One: Research

    First thing is first! Take inventory of what your skills are- what can you teach? Remember- even if you aren't an expert in the matter- you will be teaching students that have the most basic understanding of the topic. Ask your potential buyers what info they want out of a course? Offer a chance for your existing students to give feedback and then respond to it by making improvements to your curriculum.

    Step Two: Create

    Once you have compiled all of your research, it is time to create! Before you start hitting the ground running, remember that the best project is a finished project! Don't get distracted with making everything perfect all at once. You just need a good working model that can evolve and be edited or added to as you get more feedback from your students. You can always launch new and improved courses in a series of subjects as well.

    Now, find a platform that will host and manage your e-courses. There are many great platforms out there but the most user friendly platforms to do your very first launch would be Udemy or Teachable. Both platforms have great support and tutorials to help you really get started and established. Not to mention, they already have existing students that are searching on their platforms for courses- which means you benefit from some warmer traffic.

    Once you decide what platform you want to create in, it's time to upload your course. The most efficient way to do this is to create a video presentation of your lesson and then get it transcribed to text. This way you have two forms of communication for different learners that want to consume your content.

    Step Three: Promote

    The most important thing to do post production is to make people AWARE of your new course. There are many ways to promote- but the most effective forms of promotion would be using the teaching platform by paying to be a featured course (within Udemy or Teachable), Facebook ads, Pinterest, or even a Clickfunnel.
